A bad CMS can effect Google ranking

Many owners of adult dating and escort agency websites are not always aware that there existing content management system (CMS) could be the sole cause of there poor search engine ranking in Google, Yahoo and Bing.

Below is a list of the most common problems which reduce a websites Google ranking that, we come across when evaluating a prospective clients CMS.

Duplicate meta tags
This means that the CMS is using the same meta tag content for all (or most) of the web pages within the website. Such a design flaw within a content management system can cause search engines not to index a high percentage of the websites pages because it thinks the web pages are duplicates.

Remember when the Google bot crawls your website the first thing it reads on each web page is the meta tags therefore, it is advisable that each individual web page has unique meta content this, informs the bots from Bing, Yahoo and Google that each web page has original content.

Deleted web pages not removed from database
When an escorts profile or a web page is deleted from inside the admin control panel the content management system removes the profile page from the public interface (front end of the site) and the CMS admin control panel. However the content management system software does not delete the web page from the database that stores the sites records therefore, un be know to the site owner the web page is still accessible on the internet.

Problems occur if the site owner creates another new escort profile or web page using the same content that was used in the profile he/she believes to have been deleted. In this instance a duplicate content issue has been created which will incur a Google penalty and lower the sites ranking in the search engines.

Deactivated escorts profile no automatic 301 redirect
Many adult dating websites loose a lot of traffic and potential sales conversions due to this simple error in there CMS software.

If a model or escort is no longer available the website owner will deactivate her profile. However because Bing, Yahoo and Google have already indexed the site a description and link to the escorts profile will still show up in Google’s search results pages (SERP’s). If a potential customer visits the escorts profile via the link in Google`s listings he will arrive at a 404 error page. Nine times out of ten the visitor will wrongly think that the website is offline and click his browser back button to return to Google.

Content management systems that are built for adult websites which advertise multiple models or escorts should always install CMS software that automatically redirects inward traffic to deactivated profiles to the sites home page or a specific landing page that has been assigned on the fly by the websites administrator/owner.

How to evaluate your content management system
Go to google.com and enter the text below into the search box at the top of the page:
site:www.YOUR DOMAIN NAME.co.uk

Replace “YOUR DOMAIN NAME” with your websites domain name and if your site is  .com change .co.uk to .com.

After clicking the search button the search results will list all of your web pages that are indexed by Google. This shows you how Google displays your web pages in its SERP’s

What you should do now is check that all of your important pages are getting indexed  and how unique are the meta tags i.e. the title at the top of each snippet (listing) for each of your web pages.

After analysing the results if, a large percentage of your web pages are not listed or your seeing the same meta tags repeated for multiple pages then, your CMS is having a negative effect on your search engine ranking.
