The effect of the global recession on the escorts industry
Contrary to common belief the oldest profession in the world is no longer a recession proof industry to be in!
Since the sudden demise of Lehman Brothers in 2008 at the beginning of the credit crunch escorts in cities and towns all over the UK, Scotland, Ireland and Wales have consistently seen their monthly bookings decline. Now in 2011 the majority of escorts are earning as much as 50% less than they were in 2007.
The high end (£300+ per hour) London escorts market seems to be one of the worst hit regions in the UK. It relies heavily on trade from international businessmen and high roller tourists visiting the capital unfortunately, the quantity of big money gentlemen coming to London is rapidly dropping and the ones that do come are victims of the global recession themselves making them less free and easy with their cash. Combined this problem with the increase in property rental costs and one can quite easily see that the immediate future does not look good for many escorts.
What’s the solution?
We have many clients who we provide escorts SEO services for who, have websites that are ranked on page one of Google and Bing for the most important keywords which are relevant to their services and location this, does help but these clients are still feeling the pain of the global recession.
Many of our clients are now doubling their monthly budget for sponsored ads in the most popular escorts directories this, also helps but unfortunately it does not help enough because the problem is not with their escorts marketing campaign the problem is that there are less customers in the market with less money to spend and more escorts chasing the same customers.
There is only one solution and it’s called “natural market correction” basically this mean that the natural forces of the market place will weed out the escort businesses that are not financially strong enough to weather the storm. These businesses will die during the recession when, the upturn begins the escort businesses that will be left will be the organisations that mother nature has chosen as worthy of survival.
"It`s the economy, stupid" was a phrase used by Bill Clinton during his successful 1992 presidential campaign against George H. W. Bush. Know truer words befit the current situation of the UK escorts industry at this present moment in time.
